The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation Board of Directors is charged with the overall administrative and policy oversight of the Global Virtual Museum on Communism. The Board includes:

Dr. Lee Edwards, Chairman

Lee Edwards, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Fellow in Conservative Thought at The Heritage Foundation, an Adjunct Professor of Politics at the Catholic University of America and Chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.

Edwards is the author of eighteen books, including biographies of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater and histories of the Heritage Foundation and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. He was the founding director of the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University and a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is a past president of the Philadelphia Society and has been a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He has appeared on leading TV and radio news programs and been published in major newspapers and periodicals as the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, National Review, and The American Spectator. Edwards most recent book is Reading the Right Books: A Heritage Guide for the Intelligent Conservative (Heritage).

He earned a BA in English from Duke University and did graduate work at The Sorbonne, Paris. He received a Ph.D. in World Politics from Catholic University. Edwards lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife Anne, who assists him in all his writing.
