The Gulag Exhibit

A special online Gulag Exhibit, the newest feature of the Global Museum on Communism, was previewed on November 30 in Washington, DC at the National Press Club.

In addition to exclusive essays written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anne Applebaum, eminent Soviet historian Dr. Richard Pipes, and Estonian author and journalist Imbi Paju, the exhibit features a detailed, interactive 3D virtual Gulag camp environment that allows viewers to walk through and experience a Gulag camp, including barracks, administrative offices, mess hall, isolation shacks and other buildings typical to a Gulag camp. The exhibit will also feature rich multimedia historical timelines, maps, with image and video galleries.
